L’URLO DI ARMIDA

 

Created in collaboration with Ca’Foscari Venice University and the Venetian collective P.A.S.E,

“L’Urlo di Armida” is a project by Giulia Semenzato on monodies and madrigals by Monteverdi, De Wert, Sigismondo d’India, G.F.Handel and on texts by Torquato Tasso, which tells the story of the grief of a woman abandoned by her love. A performance with stage direction by Tommaso Franchin, live electronics and sound design by Giovanni Dinello and Victor Nebbiolo di Castri, it was staged for MusiCaFoscari in November 2018 and for AsoloMusica in 2019; it also featured Jadran Duncumb on the theorbo,  Andre Lieslevand on viola da gamba, Jacopo Raffaele and Gilberto Scordari on harpsichord and a vocal quintet with F. Fornelli, E.Biscuola, G.Schiavo, A. Montilla, M.Bellotto. 

 

MASTERCLASS UNIVERSIDAD DE LAS ARTES – LA HABANA

 

In November 2022 Giulia was a guest of the Italian Culture Week in Cuba organized by the Embassy of Italy of La Habana, holding a baroque singing masterclass for students at the Universidad de Las Artes . The week ended with a concert together with the baroque orchestra “Ensemble Cantabile” with music by Vivaldi, Caldara, and Esteban Salas.
